All So Cliché

Album:
Acoustic Spoken Groove / Birth of the Spoken Groove

I’ve got the driver’s stare as the wind blows through my hair
Cool and fair the breeze,
A bubbly baby girl, giggling and bouncing on my knees.
At ease with the warmth in my face,
The graceful glide of a highway waterslide through the swoosh swish plish plosh of passing traffic noise.
I let loose a rejoicing tongue wagging excitement
As I sidle next to an eighteen-wheeled toy truck,
Pulling my arm up and down in invitation for the yank of his lovely big rig horn chain.

Baby don’t you know, it’s true
Every time that I’m with you
I dream of all the things we’ll do,
And it’s all so cliché (oh, man, that's lame)
Like every stupid word I say.
I think about you every day.
I’m falling on my knees to pray that you’ll never leave. (man, somebody's gotta help me out with these lyrics)

I’m insane with rubber grip road glee, weaving in and out,
Letting the urgent slip out as I bip on over to the middle lane
Allowing rushing freight trains of speed demons scream by on their guzzling gas pedals.
I just settle into my seat and let the turbulent flow scoop its sweet brush strokes
All over a loopy ice cream cone of enjoyment flavor.
Savoring every butterfly, goosebump, love tickle I get with you by my side.

Baby don’t you know, it’s true
Every time that I’m with you
I dream of all the things we’ll do,
And it’s all so cliché (like a Billy Idol pop song)
Like every British word I say.
I think about you every day.
I’m falling on my knees to pray that you’ll never leave. (don't ever leave me, baby)

We were made for this.
I pass my bliss in easy grin exchange with the incredibly beautiful passenger in the seat on my right.
What a lovely night
With every heavenly body craning to see if the array of auto headlights will get their procession right,
Mimicking orbit dance of stars and sun sprite fairy parades.

Baby don’t you know, it’s true
Every time that I’m with you
I dream of all the things we’ll do,
And it’s all so cliché (think I care? No way!)
Like every British word I say.
I think about you every day.
I’m falling on my knees to pray that you’ll never leave.

I could just sweep the days away with this drive and the hive of jive juiciness
Alive down deep in an abode free from pride and care.
They can glare all they want,
Don’t scare us a bit,
Sittin’ in our movin’ chair, rocket ship flare through the air.
We’ve got the driver’s stare as the wind blows through my hair.
