Song About Nothing

Album:
This is Spoken Groove

I'm gonna write a song about nothing.
It'll be the coolest thing you ever heard
With words like sweet cotton candy,
Sounds of drippin' meaty delights.
Sights of wondrous organic garden harmony
Where the music's tights are showin' off the curve of long-legged, luscious, lollipop lovelies.

You may wonder where I'm drivin',
Like there's some secret mystery to what it's all about,
But it's about nothin'.
No point at all,
Just let it fall on your ears,
Massage the gears in your brain,
A simple refrain in a complicated night.

Jibbidy doo-da, de-la,
Bobbidy boo-yah, parade,
Jabbidy jo-jo, you know
You want my nothin' marmalade. (2X)

Feel the mood in the groove of sweet nothin'.
Like the pitter patter of a gentle rain in Cancun
Or the stillness of a hushed desert noon.
The moon will swoon at the feet of robot children,
Crazy giraffe monkeys playin' plunky organ grinder melodies.
They ring so sweetly,
And neatly,
Complete we dance a jig
In their jabberin' jukebox jubilee.

Jibbidy doo-da, de-la,
Bobbidy boo-yah, parade,
Jabbidy jo-jo, you know
You want my nothin' marmalade. (2X)

(Skatting)

I feel I may be offending,
Spreading it on more thickly than I should,
But nothin' never sounded so good
To thirsty souls tired of slavin' for its fruit.
Give a woot woot and open up your arms to receive.
Nothin's all you gotta do to receive a present,
Like the present train waitin' to roll right through your open door.

Jibbidy doo-da, de-la,
Bobbidy boo-yah, parade,
Jabbidy jo-jo, you know
You want my nothin' marmalade. (4X)
