Get me on an airplane.
Put me in the mind-frame.
Everybody keep calm.
We’re all a little insane.
But here come the drinks.
Here come the meals.
The airline doesn’t seem to want my tummy to be allright.
Gotta wear my facemask so I can sleep a wink tonight.
Toilets bein’ occupied.
Powdered eggs they call fried.
I love the little hot towel.
But getting’ up was denied.
Stay in your seat.
The turbulent winds
Will slam you to the ceiling
And make that airline food spin inside
I don’t know if I can hide myself.
You gotta try to act like everybody else.
If someone’s out of line they’ll stick ‘em on the shelf
(Probably somewhere outside the fuselage!)
Pilot's on the radio
Talkin’ real nice and slow,
“Minus 50 outside.”
Starin’ out the window
Dreamin’ of home.
Feelin’ alone.
You gotta find a ray of hope before the early morning sun shows.
Try to eat my breakfast before the inflight movie goes on.
Feet are getting’ antsy.
Readjust my pantsy.
Got a little bunched up.
The view is lookin’ fancy.
Here comes the coast.
Time to deplane.
Wait in peace and order
Till all the boarders get their carry-ons
(Might as well just take a seat).
I’m not sure if you can hide yourself.
Is it worth it to act like everybody else?
(Stay in line, don’t rock the boat)
‘Cause in my dreams my heart just woke up,
And my legs told my mouth to get up and smile.
Walkin’ through the terminal.
Writin’ in my journal.
Got a baggage claim check.
The waiting line’s eternal.
But here comes your face,
Not on the phone.
Walkin’ straight across the runway to get our car and drive on home.
Drive on home,
Drive on home,
Drive on home, and I'll kiss your sweet face again.
